Gay Sex in the 70s pays a steamy visit to the sexually charged period post-Stonewall, pre-AIDS (1969-1981) when gay men experienced an unprecedented sexual freedom. Hailed by critics and audiences alike, Gay Sex in the 70s director Joseph Lovett focuses his story on New York City between 1969 and 1981, using remarkable present-day interviews and stunning archival footage to take viewers back to the days just after Stonewall. Lovett takes us back to the piers, the trucks, the Central Park rambles, the back rooms, and the baths. It was a time where repression and fear were replaced by a sexual explosion, where shame became joy.

Lovett interviews such luminaries from the scene as Larry Kramer, Tom Bianchi and Rodger McFarlane as well as fascinating regular guys exploring their freedom at the time. As the men reminisce, the story deepens. It wasn’t just about sex, they discovered, but about creating friendships and a community that never existed before.

On sale now at WolfeVideo.com and available at fine retailers everywhere, this acclaimed film is the perfect gift item for yourself or a friend to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Stonewall in June 2009!

Title: Hometown Glory
Fandom: Queer as Folk
Pairing: The cast.
Song: “Hometown Glory” by Adele
Gender: Post-513
Season: Clips from all seasons
Vidder: sunshinesvids3

Comments: From Life to Death, I wanted to show the best of Queer As Folk. I worked with the whole cast. This video is about memories and so is post 5.13. Melanie and Lindsay are the narrators. Inside, I tell my own story and therefore do not always respect what the writers gave us. The first part is both the preface and the end of my video, like a preview. You know when I vid, I alway try to find the perfect balance between everything and I hope my work is not a mess. I have always wanted to make a video with this song since I 1st hear it on SKINS and I’m so glad that it’s done now.
